SUPER DIRT WEEK SPECIAL OFFERS FOR OSWEGO RESIDENTS
Oswego, we thank you for welcoming the racing community to the 51st running of Super DIRT Week on Oct. 2-8. This event at Oswego Speedway is one of the largest annual racing events in the Northeast — it’s where heroes are made and where legends are born. Few knew when Buzzie Reutimann took the first checkered flag in 1972 at the New York State Fairgrounds that all these years later so many thousands of fans would converge on Oswego in 2023 to celebrate 51 years of tradition, history and fun. As a thank you for your hospitality this week, we have several special offers:
SUNDAY-TUESDAY (Oct. 1-3)
Campers move into the speedway grounds to begin the historic 51st running of Super DIRT Week, and you’re invited to Sunday night’s huge kickoff party at Lighthouse Lanes that includes music, food, bowling and much more. Monday is the official opening day and new on Tuesday will be family night with activities centered around the kids after nearly 1,000 campers will have come to town and moved into the grounds for Racing’s Biggest Party.
DIRTcar WEDNESDAY (Oct. 4) — SPECIALS: Parade through Oswego and Frontstretch Grandstands are FREE
We can’t tell you how much we appreciate Oswego turning out for our parade at noon through the city. We love to see the school children watch the cars rumble past, and we definitely enjoy seeing all the fans line the streets in their favorite racing t-shirts. Following the parade, we want you to head over to the track and we’re going to do something we’ve never done before … we’re going to open the frontstretch grandstands for FREE at 12:30 p.m.! Have you lived in Oswego and never seen the cars on track? If so, now’s your chance because we want you to check it out. All the cars will take the track in the afternoon from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. before heading to Brewerton Speedway at 7 p.m. for a night of racing and fun.
THURSDAY NIGHT THUNDER (Oct. 5) — SPECIALS: Oswego residents who buy one ticket get one FREE, college students are only $10, and kids 12-and-under are FREE
The racing action heats up on Thursday as the pressure mounts. For the first time ever, two of the four classes of cars will qualify and race on Thursday night as they aim to secure a position in the field for their Saturday championship races.
FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS (Oct. 6) — SPECIALS: Oswego residents who buy one ticket get one FREE, college students are only $10, and kids 12-and-under are FREE
Friday night is again under the lights in a tradition carried over from Syracuse when the event moved to Oswego. The final two divisions of cars, including the high-powered Super DIRTcar Series, will qualify and race for the final positions in the 51st running of the event. And when it’s over, a huge fireworks show will light up the night sky.
SATURDAY-SUNDAY (Oct. 7-8) — SPECIALS: Kids 12-and-under only $10
The four feature events are split over Saturday and Sunday, with the 51st running of the Super DIRTcar Series Billy Whittaker Cars 200 wrapping up this historic week.
MUSIC, FOOD & FUN EVERY DAY (Oct. 3-8) — Super DIRT Week is known as RACING’S BIGGEST PARTY because off the track there are cornhole tournaments, autographs, interview shows, food, fun and a nightcap of music and dancing at the special Island Tent near the pit area outside of Turn 3.
