SUPER DIRT WEEK SPECIAL OFFERS FOR OSWEGO RESIDENTS
Oswego, we thank you for welcoming the racing community to the 52nd running of Super DIRT Week on Oct. 7-12 — with the Billy Whittaker Cars 200 now LIVE ON SATURDAY NIGHT. This event at Oswego Speedway is one of the largest annual racing events in the Northeast — it’s where heroes are made and where legends are born. Few knew when Buzzie Reutimann took the first checkered flag in 1972 at the New York State Fairgrounds that all these years later so many thousands of fans would converge on Oswego in 2024 to celebrate 52 years of tradition, history and fun. As a thank you for your hospitality this week, we have several special offers:
SUNDAY – Oct. 6
Campers begin moving into the speedway grounds to launch the historic 52nd running of Super DIRT Week, and you’re invited to Sunday night’s huge kickoff party at Lighthouse Lanes that includes music, food, bowling and much more.
MONDAY – Oct. 7
Monday is the official opening day and for the second consecutive year will feature future stars in Quarter Midget and Microd Mania racing in the infield. This huge family-oriented event showcases younger racers in hugely competitive fields. There will also be food and souvenirs available.
TUESDAY – Oct. 8
Tuesday is a big day for tech as each of the cars pass through inspection … it’s a great chance to see the cars up close before they hit the track, then at night we all head to Brewerton Speedway for the Hurricane Harvey featuring 358 Modifieds and Sportsman.
WEDNESDAY – Oct. 9 — Oswego residents who buy one ticket get one FREE, college students are only $10, and kids 12-and-under are FREE
We can’t tell you how much we appreciate Oswego turning out for our Noon-time parade through the city. We love to see the school children watch the cars rumble past, and we definitely enjoy seeing all the fans line the streets in their favorite racing t-shirts. Following the parade, head over to the track and take in the first laps of the week as the grandstands open at noon. In the past, Wednesday was merely practice, but starting this year Wednesday is a RACE DAY. You’ll see the DIRTcar 358 Modified as well as the DIRTcar Pro Stock classes qualify in the afternoon and heat race under the lights. Have you lived in Oswego and never seen the cars on track? If so, now’s your chance because we want you to check it out. Oswego residents can buy one ticket and get one free on Wednesday and Thursday, plus kids are free in general admission those days. Afterwards, there’s a DJ party in our Island tent near the pit area (just follow the crowd!) and Dirt Track Digest does a live post-race show behind the backstretch grandstands.
THURSDAY – Oct. 10 — Oswego residents who buy one ticket get one FREE, college students are only $10, and kids 12-and-under are FREE
The racing action heats up on Thursday as the heroes from the Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Modifieds and DIRTcar Sportsman hit the Clay Palace for the first time this season. Take advantage of the special Oswego offers, come out and enjoy dinner from one of the multiple food vendors, and stay for the afterparty.
FRIDAY – Oct. 11
The first of two championship days begins at noon with a stage show on the fronstretch midway, includes Last Chance races in the afternoon and then takes off with opening ceremonies at 5:30 PM for the DIRTcar Pro Stock and DIRTcar 358 Modified Salute to the Troops 150 feature events. Afterwards a DJ will warm up the crowd for a huge LIVE CONCERT at the Island just outside the pit area.
SATURDAY – Oct. 12
RACING’S BIGGEST PARTY reaches its finale with the main events taking place LIVE ON SATURDAY NIGHT for the first time ever! The DIRTcar Sportsman Chevrolet Performance 75 starts it off and the Super DIRTcar Series Billy Whittaker Cars 200 closes out the historic week, then a massive FIREWORKS SHOW and LIVE CONCERT caps off the night!
MUSIC, FOOD & FUN EVERY DAY (Oct. 6-12) — Super DIRT Week is known as RACING’S BIGGEST PARTY because off the track there are cornhole tournaments, autographs, interview shows, food, fun and a nightcap of music and dancing at the special Island Tent near the pit area outside of Turn 3.
