Can McCreadie Double Up at Rolling Wheels?

T-Mac seeks WoO Late Model, 358-Modified Wins on Oct. 6; Christopher chases Syracuse glory; ‘Wayne’s Weather Deck’ to shine on Friday Night Lights

WEEDSPORT, N.Y. – Sept. 27, 2011 – During Super DIRT Week XL several drivers will be racing in multiple divisions. A few, including Tim McCreadie, will attempt to pull off a rare feat by racing on Thursday, Oct. 6, at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park in a World of Outlaws Late Model and a DIRTcar 358-Modified.

The big night has major implications to the championships in both series. McCreadie, a standout Modified racer before going on to win a World of Outlaws Late Model Series championship, is fourth in points on the WoO Late Model Series tour and a favorite to use his local knowledge to put his Sweetners Plus dirt Late Model back in victory lane for the second time this season.

McCreadie will also be trying to drive to victory in the DIRTcar 358-Modified Series race on the same night. Carey Terrance is leading the series heading into a busy stretch during Super DIRT Week XL, leading Danny O’Brien by a mere 25 points. The DIRTcar 358-Modified Series will be busy during the week, with races on Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Weedsport Speedway plus the event on Thursday, Oct. 6, at Rolling Wheels and then the Nationwide Insurance 150 on Saturday, Oct. 8, at the New York State Fairgrounds.

TED CHRISTOPHER TO TACKLE SYRACUSE

Ted Christopher has won races and championships in nearly every type of car he’s raced. But those were on pavement. Now, the Connecticut native will tackle Syracuse for the first time in his career when he attempts to qualify the Bartemy Racing #2 entry in the SEF Small Engine Fuel 200 Presented by Ferris & Snapper.

“My deal is to just make the race,” said Christopher, the 2008 NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion and the 2001 NASCAR Weekly Racing Series National Champion. “This is definitely uncharted territory for me. A mile doesn’t bother me, I’ve been on a lot of big tracks. I’ve been 185 mph so the speed doesn’t really bother me. I’ve watched the race every year on SPEED and it’s really interesting.”

Even through Christopher has had success racing at all levels he knows a victory at Syracuse would be an accomplishment that would rank among the biggest of his career.

“It would definitely be in the top five,” he said. “If I can be competitive and have a good run, it would rank right up there. It’s like anything, the first time you hope you do well but if I have the possibility to do it again that would be nice because you always learn after the first time. The dirt guys, there are a tremendous amount of people in the dirt series who do really, really well. We have a lot of talented guys in the asphalt stuff, but if you look at it there’s probably six guys, maybe more, who can win on any given day, but it seems like the dirt guys, when you go racing there, there are probably 20 of them who can win.”
