Max McLaughlin Fast and Flawless in Futures Feature

OSWEGO, NY — Oct. 7, 2016 — It was all ‘Mad’ Max McLaughlin as he dominated the Super DIRTcar Series Big Block Modified Futures feature during the Camping World Friday Night Lights at Oswego Speedway.
“All of my guys at HBR did an awesome job. Uncle Bob got a great set of tires on this thing, and my dad got it hooked up. I can’t thank everybody enough that made this possible. We finally did it,” McLaughlin said in victory lane.
Max McLaughlin and Dan Wiesner brought the 13-car field to the green flag.
McLaughlin dove to the bottom into turn one, slid out of turn two and pulled away from Wiesner.
The yellow was soon brought out as Brian Whittmore came to a stop on the backstretch on the first lap.
Adam Roberts took advantage of the restart and advanced to third. Roberts then chased down Wiesner as they ran side-by-side.
The red was soon brought out as seven-time Oswego Speedway Champion Otto Sitterly flipped in turn one on lap four.
Side-by-side action resumed between Roberts and Wiesner. Roberts passed Wiesner coming off of turn two on the bottom and took over the second spot on lap five.
It was all McLaughlin as he took his No. 6H machine to the checkers to capture his first ever big block modified feature over Roberts and Wiesner.
“They did a great job with this place for sure. They definitely have their doubters, but hopefully the track will stay good like this for 300 laps,” McLaughlin said.
