OSWEGO, NY — Sept. 29, 2018 — DIRTcar Racing is excited to bring NAPA Super DIRT Week back to Oswego Speedway, and is celebrating with Oswego residents, kids and college students on Friday, Oct. 5.
The Friday events during NAPA Super DIRT Week are some of the most anticipated each year, and Friday, Oct. 5, is no different with something for everybody from music to racing to fireworks. Even better, Oswego residents who buy a ticket will get one FREE, kids 12-and-under will be FREE, and college students will be only $10.
In addition to the Friday night excitement, the week kicks off Wednesday at noon with a parade of race cars and official vehicles through Oswego in what has become a highly popular way to see the cars up close as they rumble down the street to Oswego Speedway. Make sure to come out and cheer the racers from City Line Road south to Hall Road, then to East Tenth Street, East Utica Street, West First Street to Route 104 (or West Bridge Street) and back to City Line Road and Oswego Speedway.
Whether it’s for Wednesday’s opening celebration or Friday’s “DIRTcar Day” in Oswego, all city and county residents are encouraged to put on their favorite racing shirts and hats as businesses and schools embrace racing during this exciting week that comes around only once a year.
The grandstands will open at noon on Friday, Oct. 5, and give fans a chance to roam the Oswego Speedway grounds to sample some of the tasty food and check out the newest souvenirs from the 47th running of NAPA Super DIRT Week, all while the competitors are on track tuning their machines at the dirt-covered Steel Palace. Then, the action really heats up just before 7 p.m. with the kickoff to Gander Outdoors Friday Night Lights showcasing all the superstars and their cars followed by fireworks and music that lasts long into the night.
Tickets for Friday’s events are only $25 for adults, with the special “buy one, get one free” offer for Oswego residents at the ticket booths with proper ID.
