OUTLAWS AT ROLLING WHEELS: Donny Schatz is on pace to post one of the top three seasons in the history of the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, and the event on Saturday, Oct. 10, at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park in Elbridge, N.Y., could play a key role. Steve Kinser, who has won more races at Rolling Wheels than any other driver in World of Outlaws history, owns the top three single season win totals in series’ history. Schatz, who has 29 victories going into this weekend and won the past two October races at Rolling Wheels, could be in a position to move past Kinser’s 1991 36-win season, which would rank Schatz’s season second all-time behind Kinser’s 1987 46-win season. To have a chance to see history, tickets can be ordered at www.WorldofOutlaws.com/tickets or by calling the ticket hotline at 844-DIRT-TIX (347-8849).
HONORING HISTORY: Nearly 30 vintage racecars, including Buzzie Reutimann’s “00” coupe that won the inaugural NAPA Super DIRT Week crown in 1972 and the revolutionary “Batmobile” that Gary Balough drove to victory in 1980, will be on display during the event, showcasing a variety of the different cars that have competed on the Syracuse Mile. In addition, past champions of the event will also be back in attendance to take part in the Sunday driver autograph session and to be recognized during pre-race ceremonies.
