Media Flock to Pole Position Raceway for Inaugural NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week Media Challenge
SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sept. 24, 2013 – Nearly 30 members of the Central New York media plus Super DIRTcar Series stars Brett Hearn, Matt Sheppard and Gary Tomkins battled in karts on Tuesday at Pole Position Raceway in Destiny USA for bragging rights in the first NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week Media Challenge.
The field included drivers from media outlets like the Associated Press, NBC/CBS affiliate CNY Central, ABC News Channel 9 WSYR, the Syracuse Post-Standard, cable news channel YNN, plus radio stations 95X, TK99, the Wall, 105.9 The Rebel, WOLF 105.1, MOViN 100.3 and WFLK Country. In addition, Internet media outlets DirtTrackDigest.com and 31st Lap plus motorsports newspapers Area Auto Racing News and Gater Racing News also entered drivers in the challenge.

J.J. Andrews representing Gater Racing News, Nate Van Scoter from radio station TK99, and John Baumes of 31st Lap were the top three finishers in the media challenge and advanced to a special race against the Super DIRTcar Series stars, where Matt Sheppard took the checkered flag.
Pole Position Raceway wasn’t just the host venue for the first NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week Media Challenge, it also is the sponsor of the pole awards for all four of the feature events during NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week.
