Excitement Stirs for NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week XLI

Only Two Months until the Biggest Week in DIRTcar Racing Begins

WEEDSPORT, N. Y. – August 3, 2012 – With just two months until NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week XLI, DIRTcar frenzy is hitting the Northeast as drivers and fans alike make preparations for the biggest annual Modified event in the country and recipient of the 2011 National Speedway Directory Outstanding Short Track Event Award.

Some follow the DIRTcar series – the Super DIRTcar Series Big-Block Modifieds, 358-Modifieds, Sportsman and Pro Stocks – or the World of Outlaws Late Models and Sprint Car Series, all of which stop in Central New York for Super DIRT Week. Many have reserved camping spots, nearly selling out available reserved camping at the New York State Fairgrounds.

Maybe some, like Sportsman driver Matt Guererri, still sport last year’s Super DIRT Week hot pass wristband in hopes of adding a second to the collection.

However the frenzy manifests itself, there is no question that this year’s NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week XLI is going to be bigger and better than ever.

Starting Wednesday, Oct. 3, the “Moody Mile” at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse will host time trials, Friday night qualifying races “Under the Lights,” and a plethora of other activities leading up to the VP Small Engine Fuels 200 at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, which pits the best of the Super DIRTcar Big-Block Modified Series drivers against one another.

Satellite events at Rolling Wheels Raceway Park add to the excitement as the World of Outlaws Late Model Series takes on the “Fast Track” Thursday, Oct. 4, and “The Greatest Show on Dirt,” the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars, invade Elbridge Saturday, Oct. 6.

Last year’s historic 40th Super DIRT Week saw Billy Decker’s unprecedented fourth consecutive DIRTcar 358-Modified Championship win and Stewart Friesen’s second consecutive SEF Small Engine Fuels 200 win. Will the two continue their streak at NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week XLI, or will season standouts like Brett Hearn, Danny Johnson, or Matt Sheppard step in?

Whoever comes out on top at the checkered flag, one thing remains certain: there’s ONLY ONE Super DIRT Week!
