DIRTcar Racing Returns to Brewerton Speedway during NAPA Super DIRT Week for SUNY Canton Hurricane 100 Presented by Ferris Mowers

DIRTcar 358-Modified event shifts from Rolling Wheels to Brewerton on Thursday, Oct. 10

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Sept. 30, 2013 – DIRTcar Racing is back at Brewerton Speedway during NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week for the first time in three years.

DIRTcar Racing and Brewerton Speedway officials reached an agreement to sanction the Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, $10,000-to-win SUNY Canton Hurricane 100 Presented by Ferris Mowers as a DIRTcar 358-Modified Series race, making it the richest event for the series outside of the Salute to the Troops 150 at the New York State Fairgrounds.

In addition, to give NAPA Auto Parts Super DIRT Week fans all of the stars at one venue on each night, the World of Outlaws Late Model Series event originally scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 10, at Rolling Wheels Raceway in Elbridge, N.Y., and the Patriot Sprint Tour event that had been planned for Brewerton on Friday, Oct. 11, will be canceled.

“Bringing the DIRTcar 358-Modified Series back to Brewerton on Thursday night during NAPA Super DIRT Week restores an element of tradition, which is important to our fans,” DIRTcar Racing CEO Brian Carter said. “By adjusting the schedule, it makes it easy for fans to see a great show on Thursday at Brewerton, and then on the following day enjoy the huge STR Friday Night Lights program at the New York State Fairgrounds with fireworks plus the Twin 20s for small-blocks, the Triple 20s for the big-blocks and Triple 10s for Sportsman.”

The SUNY Canton Hurricane 100 Presented by Ferris Mowers will be a 100-lap feature with DIRTcar points awarded on the 150-point schedule. A purse of nearly $35,000 will be on the line that Thursday night for the 30-car main event.

“We’re happy to be working with the DIRTcar team once again, and we’re looking forward to having Brewerton Speedway be part of NAPA Super DIRT Week,” Brewerton owner John Wight said.

Pit gates at Brewerton will open at noon with pit pass sales beginning at 4:30 p.m. and hot laps at 6:30 p.m.

Fans that purchased tickets to the event at Rolling Wheels and have them at Will Call will have their tickets refunded in 7 to 10 days. Fans that already have their Thursday night tickets to Rolling Wheels in hand can use the face value of the ticket for the event at Brewerton or for NAPA Super DIRT Week at the New York State Fairgrounds. Anybody with questions about their tickets are encouraged to call the DIRTcar Ticket Hotline at 877-395-8606.
